Back to Reality

After what seemed like weeks of holiday eating and drinking with total abandon, it was the right time to return to more healthy eating.

On the heels of three heavy snowstorms in rapid succession, I had no desire to go to the market.  You see, our local chain supermarket is in the midst of their annual can-can sale.  That coupled with the threat of snow sends everyone into the store to clog the aisles lest they be stranded with no milk, bread or canned tomatoes.

I came across this old recipe, and as I had everything on hand, it seemed to be the perfect dish for dinner.

  2. I am with you, regarding the return to healthier eating. I love the holidays, and yet am relieved when they are over! We both have been roasting cauliflower for pasta dishes, too!

I like your new winter-banner, pretty!

  3. Thank you, Kath. These biscuits are wine and olive oil cookies perfect to enjoy at the end of a meal along with the last bits of wine or with an expresso--also with tea I'm sure. They are made from a recipe by Paola, the sister of Amelia from Z Tasty Life. Try them.

  6. Ciao, Michele - I would have never thought of putting the cauliflower in there either - so love your blog and can't WAIT to do this when I go home (still in Florida ... my parents won't eat cauliflower either...seriously...) - Now I want to have a nice, balanced Chardonnay with this. Good stuff.
