Waiting for Sandy
Flashlights--check
Portable radio--check
Batteries--check
Water and food--check
Melitta cone and filters for coffee--check
Laundry clean, dry and folded--check
Kindle loaded with books--check
All electronic devices charged--check
And now we wait.
So what did I do in the days leading up to Hurricane Sandy? Yes, that's right, I cooked.
Pesto meatballs and tomato sauce, pumpkin turkey chili, beef barely soup and the still-cooling Bran muffins, this time studded with plump raisins.
And now we wait--and pray.
To all on the East Coast, stay safe.

Stay safe indeed. Scary stuff. x
ReplyDeleteScary, indeed. I forgot to mention it, but I did include wine on that check list.
DeleteIt was as scary as feared. I hope you are safe and well. x
ReplyDeleteSo many cooked while they waited. Our kitchens are comforting. Hope you are well. My husband is in CT with his mom and they just got power back this afternoon. Woot!
ReplyDeleteKath and Denise--thanks for your thoughts. We are still in the dark here, but no damage. I hope powe can be restored to everyone soon. Glad to hear Chris' mom is Ok
DeleteGlad to hear all is well. I hope normality can be resumed as soon as possible for everyone. x
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear wine was on the list. I can't imagine what it must have been like. So here is a rather belated (as usual) virtual cheer to you all. Now about those pesto meatballs. Love from R in Rome x
ReplyDeleteAlways wine on the list. I think you'll enjoy the meatballs.
