Summer Snaps


Although the calendar says September 2, Labor Day Weekend has long been emblematic of the end of summer around here.  And I can't say that I am sorry to see it go.

Nevertheless, it had its moments.

    I love it. The ice lollies look very tempting. The cherry bowl and the stone bowl made me giggle. The food had my mouth watering and I love the disarray of the cocktail shakers - one too many perhaps? Hope you have a great weekend. x

    KATH: I found those shakers shoved into the freezer in our friends' house in Nantucket. I rearranged them for a photo shoot one morning early when I was the only one awake as usual.

    Ahhh - as much as we pined for summer just 6 months ago, have to say I'm welcoming fall with open arms and an oven ready to bake! Gracious way to honor summer and then show it the door, Michele. xo

    Hi Michele--what a lovely wrap-up of summer! Summer now, and summers gone by---Labor Day is always the transition marker. Like you, I know that we will still have more hot-summery days ahead, but my thoughts have turned to fall. Those salmon croquettes look especially tasty to me.
